What is Thank U?
Thank U is a rewards program for all Edgars customers who wish to be part of the scheme. It rewards customers for their purchases with Thank U Points, which can be redeemed when sufficient points have been earned by means of an Edgars spending voucher.
What will my personal details be used for?
We want you to always be in the know when it comes to the multitude of on-going Thank U benefits and promotions available to you. It is also extremely important to have your contact details should you win a prize in one of our promotions. By giving us your most recent personal details, we can make sure that you never miss out.
Do I need to present my Thank U card to earn or redeem points?
If you joined the scheme before 2021 you may still present your Thank U card at the till to earn or redeem points in Edgars stores, but a card is no longer necessary as you can identify yourself using your ID number, mobile number or email address you supplied during registration.
How long does it take for my Thank U points to reflect?
It takes approximately three working days for your Thank U Points to reflect in your Thank U balance.
Can I earn Thank U Points when shopping online at Edgars.co.za?
Presently Thank U Points can not be earned or redeemed online.
How do you earn Thank U Points?
You get 10 points for every R1 you spend. After each purchase, your new Thank U Points will be allocated to your Thank U account within 3 working days.
How much are my Thank U Points worth?
10 000 Thank U Points are worth R10.00.
When can I spend my Thank U Points?
As soon as enough points (i.e. 50 000 points) have been earned to be redeemed against a R50 Edgars voucher which can be used to purchase merchandise in Edgars stores.
Do I get Thank U Points on the total of my purchases including the VAT amount?
Yes, you do. Thank U Points are calculated on the total value of your purchase after discounts and include the VAT amount.
Is there a way I can rather convert my Thank U Points to physical cash?
No, it is not possible. Your points are as good as cash because you can redeem them against an Edgars voucher that can be used towards your purchases at any Edgars store
Where can I check my Thank U Points balance?
You can check your Thank U Points balance by visiting your nearest store.
I forgot to take my Thank U Card along with me when I shopped. Can I still get my Thank U Points?
Yes, from 7 September 2020 you will be able to earn or redeem points without a card, upon positive identification, provided an ID number or mobile number was submitted during registration.
Will I still be able to earn Thank U points at Engen?
The fuel benefit with Engen has come to an end, beginning 7 September 2020 Thank U cardholders will no longer earn Thank U points for re-fueling at Engen service stations.
Does Thank U have an App?
No, the App was decommissioned on the 28th of August 2020, and no longer works.
Where can I check my points balance when the Thank U app is no longer available?
Customers can enquire on their points balances in-store (Edgars cardholders in Edgars stores).
What will be different with the ownership changes of the Edgars and Jet brands?
Edgars will continue to use the Thank U Rewards programme until further notice.
Will I be able to earn Thank U points with my Edgars Thank U card in Jet stores?
No, beginning 1 September 2020 customers with Edgars Thank U cards will not be able to earn Thank U points for purchases in Jet stores. The same will go for Jet Thank U cardholders in Edgars stores.
