THANK U REWARDS PROGRAMME TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The Thank U Rewards Programme rewards Edgars customers with points (“Thank U Points”) provided they purchase qualifying products at participating stores and have registered to become Thank U Rewards members.

Edgars will only market to you if you have expressly consented to receive marketing communication from us. If you choose not to receive marketing communication, we will not send offers, promotions and competitions to you.

If you would like to become a Thank U member, you will need to supply us with the required information at any Edgars store.

Edgars will not reimburse you with Thank U points that have been redeemed as a result of lost or stolen cards. Queries related to the Rewards programme can be directed to our Customer Service Centre 031 010 0005.

Edgars reserves the right to terminate the Thank U Rewards programme at any time, subject to a 30 (thirty) calendar days’ notice period. Should Edgars terminate the programme for any reason whatsoever, all members will be given an opportunity to spend their loyalty points within 6 (six) months from the date of termination of the Thank U Rewards programme.

Thank U points are only redeemable when a member reaches 50 000 points.  At 50 000 points a R50 spending voucher will be automatically generated and smsed to the member using the mobile contact number supplied by the member on registering. These vouchers will be valid for 6 (six) months and will expire if not used within that period, from the date of issue.

Thank U points may not be used for account payments (which includes, but is not limited to, Club and/or Insurance fee payments), nor be exchanged for cash or credit; and no change will be given on Thank U points redeemed and used as a trade discount against the purchase of goods. Thank U points earned by a member may not be sold or transferred to another Thank U rewards member.

Abuse of the programme entitles Edgars to cancel your membership and you will forfeit any Thank U points earned. Edgars reserves the right to lay criminal charges for illegal or fraudulent use of the Thank U Rewards programme.

Edgars may use your purchasing information in conjunction with information about you provided by third parties for market and product analysis in order to generate statistical reports for internal or external use. These reports are aggregated and will not contain any personal information that identifies you.  Third party companies that provide a service (including for example, website hosting and development) to Edgars may access your personal information in the performance of their functions and they are not permitted to use such information for any other purposes.

By participating in the Thank U Rewards programme, you hereby give your consent for Edgars to share your information with a third party from time to time for benefit redemption purposes only. This information will not be used for marketing or advertising purposes by the third party.

Edgars reserves the right to direct certain promotions to specific target groups only.

The Thank U Rewards programme may only be used in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

Edgars reserves the right to make changes to the Thank U Rewards programme and to amend these Terms and Conditions as and when they deem it necessary.

EARNING THANK U POINTS

Thank U points will be earned for purchases on qualifying products. To earn Thank U points at any participating store, you must have registered for the Rewards programme and have a Thank U membership number.  Your membership number, identity number or passport number, mobile contact number or email address are all acceptable forms of identification as a Thank U rewards member when transacting at the till in store.

Certain products and channels are exempt from earning Thank U points and Edgars may amend these products or channels from time to time at their discretion. You will not earn Thank U points on gift card purchases, gift card top-ups, insurance products and payments for third party services (including but not limited to utility bills and the purchase of airtime and data) or on online purchases at www.edgars.co.za.

Thank U points cannot be earned in respect of some of our in-store concession brands. To avoid disappointment, please enquire with our sales staff.

Base Thank U points are earned on all qualifying products at a rate of 10 (ten) Thank U points per net SA Rand spent. This applies for all tender types (cash, account, debit card, credit card, gift card etc.).

Thank U points will reflect in your Thank U Rewards balance within 3 (three) working days of your purchase. Customers may check their loyalty points balances in-store at the point of sale terminals

SPENDING THANK U POINTS

Members are required to reach 50 000 points before they can qualify to redeem their Thank U points. Once a member reaches 50 000 points, an Edgars voucher will be issued on their next shopping visit. The member will have 6 (six) months to use the voucher before it expires.

 VALIDITY OF THANK U POINTS

Edgars reserves the right to purge Thank U points on any Thank U account that has been inactive for a period of 36 (thirty six) consecutive months. All Thank U points earned but not redeemed within 36 (thirty six) months will be subject to automatic expiry.

When exiting the programme you will forfeit any Thank U points already earned but not yet redeemed.
