Returns will gladly be :

  • Credited or exchanged at any Edgars store
  • Credited by mail (excluding cell phones, air time and watch repairs). We regret that no exchanges of any kind will be allowed via post.

A delivery charge will be credited to you in the event of:

  • The incorrect merchandise being delivered to you
  • A defective and unused product being delivered to you

Returns policies

Returns of Apparel/Textiles/Luggage/Small Leathers

Merchandise may be exchanged or credited in an Edgars store or credited by mail if:

  1. proof of purchase is provided
  2. unsuitable and returned in its original condition within 30 days of receipt of the product
  3. defective but has not been damaged due to negligence or excessive wear

Gift items without proof of purchase and where an exchange is not required will be credited for gift vouchers if in the condition they were in when the product was delivered or collected. They may not be exchanged for cash.

We regret that the following merchandise may not be credited or exchanged unless the merchandise is defective and has not been damaged due to negligence or excessive wear:

  • underwear
  • swimwear with protective slips removed
  • hosiery which has been removed from packaging
  • branded items and eveningwear without original ticketing
  • homeware products which have been removed from their packaging

Returns of cell phones and airtime

Credits, exchanges and faulty cell phones can only be accepted at an Edgars store. We regret no postal returns will be accepted.

Should you experience a problem with your cell phone or airtime, please contact the toll free number provided with your cell phone, then take the phone to your nearest Edgars store.  Airtime cannot under any circumstances be returned, as the airtime is uniquely linked to a purchaser and accordingly, by reason of this, cannot be returned. 

A cell phone with technical faults (i.e. does not charge, does not ring etc.) may be returned and exchanged within 14 working days of receipt of order.

If the cell phone is not working after the 14 working day period, the phone will be repaired under the 1 year warranty that the phone carries. For further information, please see the section pertaining to "Cell Phone Warranty".

Returns of jewellery and watches

Merchandise may be exchanged, credited in an Edgars store or credited by post if:

  • proof of purchase is provided
  • unsuitable and returned in its original condition within 30 days of receipt of the product 
  • defective but not worn.

Gift items without proof of purchase and where an exchange is not required will be credited for gift vouchers if in the condition they were at the time of delivery or collection

Due to hygiene reasons, earrings may not be credited unless the merchandise is defective but unused.

Included with your watch is a guarantee. This specifies the guarantee period and what defects are covered. If the watch has been worn and it is defective, the guarantee will come into effect. For further information, please see the section pertaining to Watch Guarantees. Watches under guarantee may be handed in for repair at your nearest Edgars Store.

Returns of cosmetics and fragrances

Cosmetics and/or fragrances may be exchanged or credited in an Edgars store. They can also be credited by post if:

  • the cosmetic is unsuitable and unused
  • if the fragrance is unsuitable and has not been used and/or the plastic wrapping has not been broken
  • the item is returned within 30 days of receipt of the product

Warranties/Guarantees

Cell phone warranty

Faulty cell phones under warranty may only be returned to an Edgars store, which in turn will send your cell phone for repairs. We regret no postal returns will be accepted. See the Internet on-line help facility (Store Info) for your closest Edgars store that provides your MTN or Vodacom service, or contact us on 0860 334 277.

Watch guarantees

Different brands of watches have different guarantee periods. Please refer to the guarantee document included at the time of purchase
Take your watch with the guarantee and proof of purchase slip to your nearest Edgars store and we will send the watch for repairs.

How to return merchandise

How to return merchandise to your nearest Edgars store

Take the item you wish to return and the Returns copy of your proof of purchase slip.
Should you require a credit to your bank credit card, please bring your credit card with you.
Gifts received without proof of purchase may be exchanged for alternative merchandise, or gift vouchers can be issued.

How to return merchandise by mail

Detach the Returns copy from your proof of purchase slip. On the Returns copy, circle the item/s you are returning. Indicate your preferred method of credit:

  • Edgars account and your account number
  • Bank credit card and the details thereof
  • If a gift and gift vouchers are required, complete the postal address section.

Please supply your e-mail address on your Returns proof of purchase slip.

Returns should be securely packed and the Returns copy of the proof of purchase slip included. Please ensure your address is detailed on the parcel.  Returns should be sent prepaid. We regret that we cannot accept C.O.D. deliveries. If items are posted, we recommend that they be insured.  We cannot be liable for any damage to or loss of merchandise as a result of the item being posted.

Once the merchandise is received and your request for a credit or gift voucher has been processed, we will notify you via e-mail. Any merchandise received and considered not compliant with the terms as set out in the Returns Policy will be returned to sender via registered post.
