Critical information on your emergency benefits:
- Use one of the following phone numbers:
Toll free number: 0800 00 47 47 (South Africa and Namibia) Trigger number: 011 991 8580 (Botswana, Lesotho & Swaziland);
- Always quote your Edgars card and account number when you call for assistance;
- A medical professional will assess the emergency situation and will only dispatch an ambulance if the emergency/medical condition is medically justified. A medical emergency is a life-threatening situation such as a heart attack, drowning, snakebite or bodily injury (e.g. gunshot wound or motor accident injury);
- If the request to send an ambulance is declined based on the pre-assessed medical protocols, the call will be transferred to a qualified nurse to provide emergency medical advice;
- The Edgars Club Lifesaver programme must be notified within 4 days of an occurrence if someone else called for assistance on your behalf and you are unable to communicate, e.g. if you are unconscious at the time. The Club member will be liable for the account if the incident is not reported within 4 days;
- Claims can only be reimbursed/settled once proof of payment on the invoice has been submitted to Europ Assistance South Africa, Edgars Club's appointed emergency medical and rescue service provider;
- To ensure you receive the best service and that the claim is channelled correctly, it's vital that you phone 0800 00 47 47 or +27 11 991 8580 first!
- The benefit applies to emergencies occurring in South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland, Lesotho or Botswana.
